Tournament Rules
  • The number of tables, chips, payouts, blind structure and speed of blinds are subject to change up to the start of each tournament and will depend significantly on the number of players
  • Each player buys in for the same number of chips to start a tournament
  • Re-buys or add-ons are offered at the discretion of the host
  • Players will be seated prior to the tournament based on a random selection of cards. For multi-table tournaments, the color and/or suit of the selected card will determine the table. The number of the card will determine the seat. The Ace is always dealer of the table and gets choice of seat. The remainder of players fill in from there, acccording to the number they selected.
  • In multi-table tournaments, the number of players at each table must remain as equal as possible. If any table has more than one fewer players than any other table, a player from another table must be moved to that table. The player will be selected by a random selection of cards from a shuffled deck. The player that selects the lowest card must move.
  • Players are bound by verbal declarations for betting
  • The cards speak for themselves and are the final determiner of a winning hand. For example, if a player declares one hand (i.e. one pair) and doesn't realize he/she has made a better hand (i.e. two pair) until after the cards are shown, the better hand will stand.
How Points are Calculated

Points are calculated as follows:

  • Each player in a tournament will earn "Tournament Points":
    • All players will receive three "Buy-In Points," but each additional buy-in will subtract six points
    • All players will earn "Place Points" that will be equal to the inverse of their finish position in the tournament
    • All players are guaranteed a minimum of 4 "Tournament Points"
  • Each player that finishes in a paying position will earn additional "Bonus Points":
    • These players will each earn a "Position Bonus" that will be five times the inverse of their finish position in the paying positions
    • The tournament winner gets a "Winner Bonus" equal to the number of tournament entries plus the number of paying positions
